w e . a r e . b a n k r u p t . w i t h o u t . l o v e — p a r t . t h r e e // learning how to love is our primary objective, our key goal, our main calling. within our generation, there are a great deal of things that we can unintentionally make our life principles, our centre focus — often in place of love we can hold envy, resentment, frustration, jealousy, hurt or disappointment, but God calls us to have a solid centre, a firm foundation that is the pinnacle of all else, so strong that it won’t be moved or shaken apart when the trials come — when the roads cross over and you’re unsure of your path. when the emotional earthquakes hit and the financial hurricanes blow. when all the trials and tribulations of life hit you, batter you and attempt to knock you down — that which is at the centre will hold you firm and stable and tie you to Him. colossians 3:14 says “love is more important than anything else, it’s what ties everything completely together.” when Jesus took His place on the cross, it was not simply out of a heart of obedience to the Father. when His hands were pierced and nailed into place, it was not out of a need or an obligation. when He inhaled and exhaled His last breaths of air on the cross for the sake of mankind; for those seen and unseen, birthed and unbirthed — He cried ‘it is finished’.. from a place of irreplaceable and incomprehensible love; deeper than the darkest corners of the atlantic and pacific seas, wider than the galaxies filled with planets and stars, and taller than the mountains capped with ice and snow; His love was displayed, from the centre of His existence; poured out for us, for a relationship. a relationship that mattered then, matters now, and will matter in the future. nothing can take the place of love. life is not about achievement or balance, or schedules or recognition. it’s not about who has the most friends on Facebook, or who’s invited to the most dinner hang outs. it’s not defined by the texts and likes you receive, or the amount of arms that embrace you on the weekend. love is an inward and central position and a daily decision. what is keeping you from declaring love as your greatest ambition today?
